Aquatonic Water Ionizer
Where is the Aquatonic manufactured?
The manufacturer of the Aquatonic is Dong Yang
Science, a Korean Company. There are
those who speak poorly of Korean made Water Ionizers, however their criticism
is misplaced. Until the 1990's, Water Ionizers were produced exclusively in
Japan. Dong Yang Science began producing Water Ionizers nearly eight years ago
and was the first company to introduce MICOM Digital Technology to the Water
Ionizer market, which is fast becoming a standard throughout the industry. They
have become well established in their field and are considered a global leader
in Ionized Water Technology. The company was formed in 1982 and is exceedingly
well respected throughout Korea and the Far East.
Does the Aquatonic provide acid water as
well as alkaline water?
Yes, as do all Water Ionizers. Water is run
over positive and negative electrodes producing positive and negative ions in
the water which are then separated to produce alkaline and acid water. It's
like getting two machines in one.
How does the Aquatonic compare with other
Water Ionizers on the market?
Nearly all Water Ionizers produced today
provide approximately the same levels of ionized water, that is, an alkaline pH
9.9 and ORP -300, and an acid pH 5.5 and ORP +800, depending on source water.
The Aquatonic delivers those levels and stands up well in comparison to any
other Water Ionizer on the market, regardless of their country of origin.
Why is the Aquatonic so much cheaper than
other water ionizers on the market?
We buy direct from the manufacturer and passes
along the savings to you. It's as simple as that. When you introduce network
marketing schemes or dealer pricing levels into the sales of any product, the
result is an unnecessarily high retail price. We are one of the only Direct
Sellers in the Water Ionizer industry.
Does the Aquatonic have any features that
the other water ionizers on the market don't have?
The Aquatonic uses MICOM Digital Technology,
while most other Water Ionizers on the market use the old analog technology.
With MICOM, the unit has the ability to self-clean for thirty seconds for every
ten minutes of use. This helps extend the life of the electrodes and therefore
the life of the Water Ionizer. It also can sense that hot water is being put
through the unit and automatically shuts off. (Hot water would burn out the
electrodes). This protection and the self-cleaning mechanism of MICOM helps
extend the life of the Water Ionizer dramatically.
There has been some discussion about
electrodes on Water Ionizers. What are the Aquatonic' electrodes made of?
The electrodes are composed of Solid Titanium
with a Dip-treatment platinum coating, which is the standard in the industry.
Titanium is used because it is extremely hard. The platinum is coated, NOT
electroplated, on to the titanium. Platinum is used because it is an excellent
conductor. The Aquatonic does NOT use stainless steel electrodes as has been
suggested by other companies. Stainless steel was used for Water Ionizer
electrodes in the late 1980's and was found not be a suitable material because
they did not last more than a a few years. The industry began using titanium
platinum-coated electrodes as a whole in the early 1990's because it will last
indefinitely. At present, no one is manufacturing Water Ionizers with stainless
steel electrodes.
Some companies claim to have solid
platinum electrodes on their water ionizers. Is that better than titanium
platinum coated?
Solid platinum electrodes would be cost
prohibitive to begin with. The electrodes are one of the most expensive
components of the water ionizer. Also, platinum is a very soft metal (as is
gold) and therefore would not be an appropriate material for the electrode
base, which is why titanium is used. Anyone claiming to have solid platinum
electrodes in the water ionizers they are selling do not know their own product
because solid platinum electrodes are, in a practical sense, not possible in a
water ionizer.
Does the Aquatonic come with a warranty
and how does it work?
The Aquatonic comes with a one-year warranty
from the date of purchase. If anything goes wrong with the unit during that
period, return it to the Watershed and it will either be repaired or replaced,
if necessary, for free as long as it is under the warranty. Please be aware
that if taken care of properly, there is little that can go wrong with a Water
Ionizer.
Does it work with city water and well
water?
Yes both. The Aquatonic has a built in carbon
filter which effectively removes chlorine (a known carcinogen) from tap water,
which is why you should use a shower filter to remove chlorine before taking a
shower.
The only concern would be if there is a high level of iron in your water. Any state health department laboratory in the country can run a test to see how much iron is in your water. A level of .4 mg/L or higher is too much. It will deposit on the electrodes over a year or two and eventually render the unit inoperable. There are ways to remove some iron from your water through filtration.
How long does the Aquatonic filter last?
It depends on the quality of your water source
and how much chlorine it contains. The amount of chlorine is contains can
easily be determined by a call to your local water company and asking. For
instance, if the level of chlorine is between .4 and 1.0 PPM (mg/L), the filter
should last about 12-18 months. If the chlorine level is above that, the filter
will last about 9-12 months. There is a filter life indicator on the Aquatonic,
which will provide you with some idea of when your filter should be replaced.
However it simply records the volume of water that has run through the
Aquatonic and does not measure the amount of chlorine in the water. Replacement
filters for the Aquatonic are $49.95 each.
Should I be concerned about the quality
of the water coming out of my tap if I have city water?
Yes, for two reasons. As discussed, city water
contains chlorine and other unwanted particulate matter in it that should be
removed by filtration. There are sometimes other problems with city water such
as bacterial contamination, benzene and other contaminants. These are more the
exception than the rule. You should check with your municipal water company for
further information on any of these types of problems occurring in your water.
Do Water Ionizers remove fluoride from
tap water?
Some companies claim that all the fluoride in
tap water is removed with the use of Water Ionizers. This is not entirely true.
A Water Ionizer will send about half the amount of fluoride found in city water
down the acid tube, thus cutting the amount of fluoride you drink in your water
by about one-half. Water Ionizers do NOT entirely remove fluoride from the
water, whether it has been added to the water or is already there naturally as
with the case of a well.
Can I use the Aquatonic with bottled
water or must I hook it up to the sink?
It is possible to use the Aquatonic with
bottled water, although it may not be quite as convenient. That will
essentially depend on the quality of your tap water, how fussy you want to be
with what you drink and how much you want to spend.
Another option would be to put one or two filters underneath the sink where your Water Ionizer is, one being a particulate filter that takes suspended particles out of the water, the other a carbon filter that removes chlorine if you have city water.
Is the Aquatonic difficult to install?
Not at all. The average installation time is
less than 15 minutes. The Aquatonic Water Ionizer comes with a diverter that
hooks up to the faucet on your sink and a single tube that can easily be cut to
length as needed. Attach the hose to the outlet on the diverter and the intake
line of the Aquatonic. The other hose should be connected to the Acid outlet
line of the Aquatonic which drains into the sink. (Remember, Alkaline and Acid
water are always produced simultaneously). Plug in the unit, preferably into a
GFI (protected) outlet. As water is diverted into the Aquatonic, it will
automatically turn on and begin producing Ionized Water. You will usually see a
slightly dark discoloration the first you turn on the Aquatonic. This is carbon
being washed from the filter and is completely normal. Be aware that the
Aquatonic self-cleans each time you turn it on. This can be turned off by
pushing the pH button.

Will I need a plumber?
No, this can be done by the average person who
has little or no plumbing experience.
How long will it take to install?
Usually in about 5-10 minutes.
Will I need any additional parts in order
to install my Jupiter Water Ionizer?
About 10% of all faucets do not have the
standard screw thread that will fit the faucet diverter that comes with Jupiter
Water Ionizers. If you find the Jupiter faucet diverter will not fit your sink,
note what kind of faucet you have and take the Jupiter faucet adapter to any
hardware store and they will have the necessary parts you will need.
What kind of warranty does the Water Ionizer
have on it?
The Aquatonic comes with a One Year Warranty.
It can be extended a extra year for an additional $25.00. The Traveler J700B
comes with a six month warranty with can be extended to one year for an
additional $25.00.
What is your return policy?
If you chose to return the Jupiter Water
Ionizer you may do so within 30 days. There is a 15% restocking charge for
returned Water Ionizers.
Do I absolutely have to use my tap water
with the Jupiter Water Ionizer or there a way to use the bottled water I have
delivered in 5 gallon jugs?
The Watershed sells the Flojet 5 Gallon Pump
which is designed to pump water from a 5 gallon water bottle to a sink faucet
or refrigerator ice machine. This could also be used to pump bottled water from
the 5 gallon container to the Jupiter Water Ionizer. All that would be need is
the necessary fittings (available at any hardware store) to use the Flojet Pump
to deliver water to the Jupiter Water Ionizer.
I tried the pH color indicator drops that
come with the Jupiter Water Ionizer but it seems to indicate that the water has
not changed much in pH. What is the problem?
First, the pH color indicator drops of any kind
are not terribly accurate. For absolute accuracy, we recommend the Hanna
Digital Champ pH Meter sold by the Watershed. However, if you slow down the
flow of the water, you will see the Alkaline Water will become stronger because
the water has more contact time with the platinum electrodes. The color test
indicator will produce a purple result, meaning the water is indeed quite
Alkaline.
Another test you can use to determine if your Jupiter Water Ionizer is working properly is to take a clear glass and fill it with alkaline water that is flowing slowly through the unit. You will see very small bubbles in the water. That is the antioxidant that will revert to oxygen and give you lots of Energy.
I hooked everything up correctly and no
water will come out the silver tube. What is the problem?
Open the panel on the left side of the
Aquatonic unit and be sure the filter is properly seat by turning it clockwise.
This is the only reason why water would not come out of the unit unless
something such as packaging material is blocking one of the tubes.
I hooked everything up correctly, plugged
in the unit and turned on the water. The water comes out but the lights don't
come on. What is the problem?
Check the fuse in back of the Jupiter Water
Ionizer. That is most likely the problem since Jupiter Water Ionizers are
extremely reliable and have less the a 1% failure rate. The fuse is a standard
4 amp fuse obtainable at any electronics store such as Radio Shack.
The water came out dark the first time it
ran through the Jupiter Water Ionizer. What that normal?
That is what is called "fine" coming
off the carbon in the filter and it is normal. It will clear up within the
first few seconds of use.
I began using the Jupiter Water Ionizer
and the green filter light indicator is near the top. Do I need to buy a new
filter?
The main purpose of the carbon filter is to remove
chlorine, which means the filter is designed to be used with municipal water.
How often the filter should be changed depends on how much chlorine there is in
your municipal water. If there is a lot of chlorine in the water, the filter
should be changed once a year. If there is not as much the filter cartridge
should be changed every 2 years. Contact your water authority to get this
information. Anything over .5 ppm of chlorine is considered above average. If
you have well water, the filter changed the carbon filter every 3-4 years. The
carbon filter will also remove other unwanted elements found in drinking water
such as VOCs (benzene, trihalomethanes, etc).
The green filter light has risen to the
top of the unit and the music won’t stop playing. How do I reset it?
Open the filter panel on the left side of the
unit and push the red button in the upper right hand corner behind the filter
WHILE THE WATER IS RUNNING. The green filter light will reset.
Why does the unit play music when I first
turn it on and after every ten minutes of use?
Jupiter Water Ionizer either beeps or plays
music when it is in cleaning mode, which means the electrodes have reverse
polarity and acid water is coming out the silver tube and alkaline water is
coming on the tube that runs into the sink. This happens when you initially
turn the Jupiter Water Ionizer on by running water through it and after ten
minutes of use. Self-cleaning dramatically extends the use of the electrodes. Never
drink the water from the Jupiter Water Ionizer when it is cleaning mode.
Is there any way to turn off the music
that plays on the Jupiter Aquatonic Water Ionizer?
No, there is not. The music plays as a safety
precaution warning you not to drink the water while the unit is cleaning
because acid water should never be consumed. (It is all right to brush your
teeth or gargle with, but not to drink.) However, you may manually override the
cleaning process by pushing the pH button on the unit. This will cancel the
cleaning mode and immediately return the unit to regular Ionization mode.
How much water should I drink and at what
level when I first get the Jupiter Water Ionizer?
This will depend partly on what kind of shape
you are in physically when you initially start drinking Ionized Water. For
instance, if you have made a conscious effort to eat well and keep your body
detoxified you can start drinking Ionized Water at higher levels 4 or 5.
However, if you have been on medication for some time, or have had a poor diet of fast food, processed food, or a diet void of fresh fruits and vegetables, you may need to begin drinking Ionized Water on Level One. Start by drinking an 8 oz. glass of water slowly. If you do not feel any negative effects, try another glass later in the day. If you are fine with that, move up to the next level. The stronger you can drink Ionized Water, the better it is for you because the water is more Alkaline, more Detoxifying, and a stronger Antioxidant that provides your body with more Oxygen.
Why do some people get headaches and diarrhea
when first drinking this water?
The Ionization process creates water molecule
clusters that are half the size of regular water molecule clusters. This is why
Ionized Water is sometimes referred to as "reduced water" because it
has become reduced in size from a 12 water molecule cluster to 6 water molecule
cluster. This makes the water much more hydrating because it flows through our
body tissue more easily, thus pushing toxins out of our system. It is this
detoxifying effect that sometimes gives people headaches and diarrhea and why
there are 5 levels of strength on Jupiter Water Ionizers. All Water Ionizers
should have more than one level.
What should I expect from drinking
Ionized Water?
This will initially depend on what level of
strength you begin drinking Ionized Water. Ionized Water provides your body
with lots of oxygen, which is why it gives us energy. Ionized Water is much
smoother tasting than conventional water. It makes better coffee, tea, juice,
etc. Alkaline Water is wonderful to cook with because it helps hydrate the food
and bring out its flavor.
However, other changes in your body after drinking Ionized Water will be much more subtle and will take some time. If you have accumulated acid waste in your system, it probably took years for you to get into that condition and it will take some time to reverse it. As the body is slowly brought into pH balance by drinking Ionized Water, it will naturally begin to function more efficiently and problems will begin to correct themselves. This is one of the great advantages of pursuing the Watershed Preventative Health philosophy. Is is all right for children to drink
Ionized Water?
Absolutely. It naturally gives children
tremendous amounts of oxygen that helps their bodies function efficiently, as
it does with everyone who drinks it. Having extra amounts of oxygen in our
blood also naturally helps us to fight disease and build a strong immune
system. Since children usually have NOT accumulated toxins in their bodies,
they suffer none of the ill effects of detoxification such as headaches,
diarrhea, etc.
Is there anyone who should not drink Ionized
Water?
No. However, some people must start by drinking
very small amounts of Ionized Water, such as 8 oz. of Level One Ionized Water
per day. This is especially true of the elderly who often have unfortunately
allowed heavy metals and other toxins to accumulate in their bodies. Sometimes
years of medication has accumulated in them. Toxins and heavy metals that have
accumulated in people over decades can lead to diseases such as Alzheimer's
Disease, Lewy Body Dementia and a host of other mental disorders and
psychiatric diseases.
Can a person become too Alkaline from
drinking Ionized Water ?
People have been known to drink as much as 1 to
2 gallons of Ionized Water every day and gotten great benefit from it. And they
have not become too Alkaline. On the contrary, one of the most common
imbalances people have today that leads to health problems is that they are too
acidic. Our body pH should be approximately 7.0 (measured through saliva or
urine). The more acidic we are, meaning a 6.6 pH or lower, the greater
opportunity we have provided disease to flourish in us. A low body pH
creates an environment in our bodies which is conducive to diseases such as
arthritis, cancer, etc to flourish. You can observe that people who are
very sick always have a very low body pH. (Not blood pH, which is always stable
around 7.4) The sicker they are, the lower the body pH. Diseases will further
create this acidic condition in us in order to better thrive. In short, it is
very difficult for us to become too Alkaline. In fact, it is rare for a person
to acquire Alkalosis, the condition of being too Alkaline.

1. USE IN
DRINKING IONIZED WATER:
Useful in improving
the constitution, and regulates physical condition. Unlike tap water, you can
drink large quantities of alkaline ion water without the risk of stomach
upset. You should drink no more than 1/2 your body weight in ounces, on a
daily basis.

fermentation: drinking alkaline ion water on an empty stomach is effective.
